Another Trip to Livermore

Last month I had the honor of joining Deborah Grossman, one of the Brix Chicks, the Wine Harlot, Becca of The Gourmez and Fred Swan to visit Bodegas Agquirre in Livermore. It was pouring buckets, but the whole Bodegas Agquirre team were incredibly welcoming. The environment of the tasting room is casual, but filled with hospitality. As a whole, I've found the wineries in the Livermore Valley to have not only stellar wines, but incredible customer service.

The winery is run by Dr. Ricardo Aguirre, a cardiovascular surgeon and wine lover. There was lots to love, the wine, the food pairings, the company and more. The wines were all good, but there were two wines that stood out to me, the 2017 Rosé and the NV Forte 6. The Rosé was dry, well balanced and would work with a wide variety of foods. Forte 6 is a dessert wine blend from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo and Touriga Nacional. This might be the most unique blend I've seen in a dessert wine.

I recommend everyone visit for the incredibly friendly and personalized service with the unique and well crafted wines. The tasting room is open on weekends. You can see a slideshow below.
